About Baetty

I'm an experienced English for Academic Purposes (EAP) tutor at university level, helping students develop the language and academic skills needed to succeed in higher education.

Having studied as an international student in both Australia and the UK, I understand first-hand the challenges of adapting to a new academic culture, meeting university expectations, and communicating confidently in English. This experience allows me to support students with empathy and practical insight.

I have worked with learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, helping them build confidence in academic writing, critical reading, seminar discussions, presentations, and intercultural communication.

My lessons are engaging, practical, and tailored to your individual goals. Whether you need support with essays, dissertations, academic vocabulary, referencing, presentation skills, or overall academic confidence, I will create a personalised learning plan to help you make measurable progress.

My teaching style is supportive, patient, and learner-centred. I believe learning should be both enjoyable and effective, providing clear guidance, constructive feedback, and achievable outcomes.

I can help you with:
Academic writing and essay structure
Critical reading and note-taking
Academic vocabulary and grammar
Presentation and seminar skills
Dissertation and research writing
IELTS Academic preparation
Referencing and avoiding plagiarism
Confidence in studying at a UK university

Why choose me?
As both an EAP tutor and a former international student, I understand not only the English language but also the academic expectations and cultural challenges faced by students studying in English-speaking universities.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to your academic needs, goals, and current level of English. Whether you are preparing to study at university, already enrolled in a degree programme, or looking to improve your academic communication skills, I will create a personalised learning plan to help you succeed.

As an experienced university-level English for Academic Purposes (EAP) tutor, I support students in developing the language and study skills needed for higher education. Lessons are practical, interactive, and focused on real academic tasks that students encounter at university.

I can help you with:
• Academic writing and essay structure
• Critical reading and note-taking
• Academic vocabulary and grammar
• Seminar participation and discussion skills
• Presentation and public speaking skills
• Research and dissertation writing
• Referencing and avoiding plagiarism
• Understanding academic expectations in UK universities

Having studied as an international student in both Australia and the UK, I understand the challenges of adapting to a new academic environment and communicating confidently in English. I provide a supportive and encouraging learning space where students can build confidence and make measurable progress.

In our first lesson, we will discuss your goals, identify areas for development, and create a study plan tailored to your needs.

My aim is not only to improve your English, but also to help you become a more confident and successful student.
Teaching approach: Supportive, patient, learner-centred, and focused on achieving clear academic outcomes.
