About Amir
I am a Cell and Molecular Neuroscience student at Florida State University with experience in neuropharmacology research focused on the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration, including Parkinson’s disease–like pathology. My work examines transcriptional regulation pathways (such as YY1 and REST/NRSF), astrocyte–neuron signaling, and glutamate transporter dysfunction in dopaminergic neuron vulnerability.
In addition to research, I was selected as a Learning Assistant for a high-enrollment biology course, where I facilitated active learning sessions in genetics, metabolic regulation, and transcriptional control. This role required translating complex biological systems into clear, structured explanations that students could apply in problem-solving contexts.
My background combines rigorous scientific training with proven teaching experience, allowing me to approach tutoring with both depth and clarity. I emphasize conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and precise communication, ensuring students not only improve academically but develop confidence in how they think through scientific problems.
I maintain a professional, structured approach to each session and am committed to delivering high-quality, focused instruction tailored to the student’s level and goals.

My approach is focused on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorizing information. I break down complex biology, chemistry, and math topics into clear, step-by-step explanations so students can see how everything connects and apply it confidently on exams.
A typical lesson involves reviewing what you’re currently learning, identifying exactly where you’re getting stuck, and then working through problems together until the concept becomes intuitive. I prioritize efficiency, so sessions are focused, structured, and tailored to your specific needs.
What sets me apart is my experience as a former biology learning assistant and my background in neuroscience research, which allows me to explain material from both a conceptual and real-world perspective.
My lessons are ideal for high school and college students taking biology, chemistry, or introductory math courses who want to improve understanding, grades, and confidence.
