About Sadie

I’m a friendly, enthusiastic person with a genuine love of learning, particularly History. Having recently completed the Leaving Certificate, I can relate to students and understand the challenges of the course. I have experience tutoring History, particularly helping students with their RSR research and essay writing. My strengths include explaining ideas clearly, finding reliable sources and sharing effective exam techniques. I’m approachable, patient and encouraging, and I enjoy helping students build confidence, develop their own ideas and discover a genuine interest in History.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is to make History engaging and accessible while helping students build confidence and achieve their best results. As a former Leaving Certificate student, I can relate to the challenges pupils face and understand the course from their perspective. I enjoy talking with students about their interests, encouraging critical thinking and showing them that History is about much more than memorising facts.

I achieved an H1 in Leaving Certificate History and my History RSR, and placed 10th nationally in the School History Quiz. I also have tutoring experience helping students with their RSR, particularly with research, finding reliable sources and structuring their work. I can also help students develop effective exam techniques and essay-writing skills.

Lessons typically last 1–1.5 hours and are aimed at 5th and 6th Year students preparing for the Leaving Certificate.
