About Robin

Hello! I'm Robin, an experienced and certified English educator with an Education Specialist degree in Instructional Technology and over a decade of success helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. My background includes teaching AP English, designing engaging curriculum, and preparing students for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. I’ve also worked with gifted learners and supported students at all levels—from those building foundational skills to high achievers preparing college applications. As a tutor, I bring patience, professionalism, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. I create a supportive environment where learners feel seen, heard, and challenged. Whether you're aiming for a top AP score, crafting a compelling college essay, or improving your academic writing, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I tailor each lesson to meet the unique needs and learning styles of my students. I begin by identifying skill gaps through brief diagnostics or reviewing past work. From there, I build a lesson plan that balances skill development, active practice, and clear, targeted feedback. My sessions often include interactive discussions, guided practice with model texts, and scaffolded writing or test-prep tasks.

My background as both an English educator and instructional designer allows me to bring creative, tech-savvy approaches to traditional content. I integrate multimedia tools, clear visual models, and strategies that help students transfer their learning to real-world tasks—whether that’s mastering rhetorical analysis, strengthening SAT/ACT performance, or drafting a standout college essay.

I work with high school and college students, including AP and gifted learners, as well as adult learners returning to school or looking to strengthen their communication skills. My students often say they leave sessions feeling more confident, organized, and empowered as thinkers and writers.
