About Molli

Hi! I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and am now a student at UT-Austin’s College of Natural Sciences, where I’ve combined my lifelong love for science with hands-on lab and tutoring experience. With a strong background in Biology, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry, I understand the challenges students face and know how to break down complex topics into clear, manageable concepts. My tutoring approach is personalized, supportive, and results-driven, helping students not just memorize information but truly understand and apply it. Whether you need help preparing for exams, tackling tough coursework, or just building confidence in science, I’m here to guide you. I’m excited to expand my tutoring services beyond UT and help more students succeed!

About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on conceptual understanding, problem-solving strategies, and personalized learning. I break down complex topics into simple, manageable parts, using real-world examples and analogies to make tough concepts easier to grasp. Instead of just memorizing facts, I encourage active learning through guided practice problems and diagrams to help students truly understand the material. A typical lesson starts with a quick review to assess understanding, reinforcing key topics from previous sessions or coursework. Then, we dive into new material with step-by-step explanations, diagrams, and real-life examples to build a solid foundation. Next comes the practice phase, where students work through problems, case studies, or conceptual questions with my guidance to make sure they understand the "why" behind each step. Finally, we wrap up with a summary of key takeaways, and I recommend extra resources or practice problems for independent study. What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to adapt to each student’s learning style. Everyone learns differently, so I tailor my explanations—whether that means using visual aids, breaking things down step by step, or focusing on hands-on problem-solving. As a current Biology major at UT Austin, I understand the challenges these courses present, allowing me to provide insider tips, effective study strategies, and valuable insights into university-level coursework to help students succeed.
