About Andrea

An expert in communication and Higher Education, I combine my extensive research experience with my passion for teaching and supporting students. My mission is to help students thrive. I have a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Teaching and Learning, a Master of Education degree in Second Language Teaching & International Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies. I have over 20 years experience in teaching Academic and General English, Pathways courses to university, and tutoring, lecturing, academic advising, and curriculum design at universities. Here are some comments from my previous students: "Hello Andrea, Thank you so much for all your contributions to this course, I have really enjoyed it and appreciate your feedback and encouragement. I have learned a lot that I can apply to my teaching practice and university study." "Dear Andrea, Thank you so much for your teachings throughout the unit. Your sessions were always interesting and insightful, and I really enjoyed the discussions. They always seemed to end too soon!" I have worked at Edith Cowan University and Curtin University in Perth and the University of Melbourne in Australia and have conducted lectures and workshops for University of Tokyo and Tamagawa University in Japan. I have presented at national and international conferences and published in academic journals. I began my career as an ESL teacher in Japan.
