About Cornel

I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE, a degree in Drama, and over 18 years of teaching experience in South Africa, the UK, South Korea, and the UAE. I have worked with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, helping them improve their skills and achieve their goals. I am fluent in English and Afrikaans, and I bring creativity, patience, and professionalism to every lesson. My experience includes teaching English, Afrikaans, Drama, public speaking, and exam preparation such as IELTS. I am committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions, challenge themselves, and enjoy the process of learning.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-focused, meaning I adapt every lesson to suit your level, learning style, and goals. I believe lessons should be interactive, practical, and enjoyable, so I use a mix of structured learning, conversation practice, and real-life examples to make progress feel natural. I am fluent in both English and Afrikaans and can teach in either language. A typical lesson with me includes clear explanations, guided practice, and constructive feedback, with activities tailored to keep you engaged and motivated. My lessons are aimed at school learners, university students, and adults who want to improve their English or Afrikaans skills, prepare for exams such as IELTS, or build confidence in speaking for professional or personal purposes.
