About Emily
I hold a first class Philosophy BA degree from the University of Cambridge, and first class (distinction) MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy from LSE.
I offer tutoring alongside my role in the Cabinet Office in the UK.
I've been published twice, and have worked in a research position at the Uehiro Centre at Oxford University, on applied ethics. At Cambridge I received one on one tutorial sessions from world-class academics, and I want to be able to make that kind of learning more accessible to more people. My tutoring experience ranges from children to MA students, with over five years of one on one tuition experience, as well as extensive experience teaching in lycées in France.

I would totally recommend her, as the results turned out amazing!

Perfect! Emily is a highly recommended tutor. So far, I've studied with Emily for a month to practise critical and argumentative thinking ahead of my return to university next year.
Emily is prepared, knowledgeable, communicative and professional. She structures her classes clearly, provides comprehensive explanation for various concepts and creates and guides stimulating discussions. She is a trusted tutor.- We've had two lessons together so far, and I've been really impressed by Daniel's flexibility and creativity when approaching problems, as well as his critical reading ability. We've already worked on some influential philosophical texts, and he's dealt with the challenge brilliantly.See the response Emily :
Perfect! Emily is a hardworking and responsible teacher who prepares every lesson carefully. Her classes are logical, detailed, informative, and try to tell in an engaging way. I am very pleasant to be one of her students.
- I've now had two lessons with Shipei, and can confirm she's a great student! We're working on both conceptual understanding and perfecting her English, and she's really receptive to feedback from both. One of her great strengths is being open to new ideas, and she is also always keen to improve, which really pays off. Good work!See the response Emily :
Perfect! I've had 3 lessons with Emily so far and have been loving it! She is exceptional at explaining philosophical concepts in a clear and concise manner. My favourite things so far are getting introduced to big classic discussions and arguments in the topics we've chosen, and equally importantly, the role of thought experiments and conversation in philosophy. Emily's lessons have helped me navigate the sea of philosophy resources available online and elsewhere with more purpose and direction than before. She is also very organised and punctual, and every lesson is very well-structured and interactive, keeping me actively thinking about and responding to the topic at hand. I very much look forward to having more lessons and would 100% recommend Emily to anybody who is interested in philosophy lessons of the highest quality.
- I've had two lessons with Huey, and she is a great student! he is also organised and punctual, with an excellent level of intellectual curiosity and a valuable ability to pursue a line of thought. I look forward to our next few sessions!See the response Emily :

- We've had one session so far, laying down the groundwork for Danielle's essay. She was engaged and responsive to suggestions and lines of questioning, and I'm looking forward to reading her first draft!See the response Emily :
Perfect! Emily is a very knowledgeable and articulate tutor. She is quite familiar with the topic. I am looking forward to having another lesson with Emily.
- His attention, and willingness to explore ideas even when he wasn't certain of them, is a good sign for the essay we are working on. We made good progress in the lesson, and he seemed keen to apply some ideas from a wide range of thinkers.See the response Emily :
Perfect! I think the main purpose and goal of a Philosophy education is to inspire interest in thought, logic and arguments.
Emily provides a simple introduction into Philosophy that is at once lively, direct and exciting enough to capture the imagination of my 7-year old, sparking in her the desire to learn more and immerse herself in the topics that she has covered. I would wholeheartedly recommend Emily.- Anjy is a very bright student, and I'm looking forward to continue teaching her!See the response Emily :
