About Ellen

Hi, I’m Ellen Gayle Schwinger, and I’ve spent over 25 years helping children discover the joy of reading. I am a licensed Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDT/C) and hold advanced certifications as a Special Education Specialist and Generalist. I specialize in working with students who struggle with reading, writing, and spelling—including those with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences. I am trained in proven, research-based methods such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Fundamentals, Phonics Boost, and Sound Partners. These programs allow me to tailor each lesson to your child’s unique needs and help them make real, measurable progress. I founded Arvada Learning & Coaching because I believe every child deserves the right tools and strategies to succeed. I offer: Comprehensive educational evaluations Individualized reading, writing, and math intervention Dyslexia screenings and progress monitoring Parent coaching and IEP/504 advocacy I approach every lesson with compassion, patience, and a deep belief that with the right support, your child can thrive. My greatest joy is watching students build confidence, catch up to grade level, and discover that they can be successful readers and writers.
