About Mercedes

Hello, I'm Maemu Nethengwe, but you can call me Mercedes. I'm a final year Graphic Design student, and I hold a TEFL certificate, qualifying me to teach English to native English speakers. Additionally, I serve as a Visual Arts tutor, specializing in theory and exam strategies. In my English lessons, I concentrate on grammar, spelling, and reading, as many others tend to focus on speaking and writing. Teaching brings me joy as it enables me to impart knowledge and continually learn. I look forward to the opportunity to have a lesson with you soon.

About the lesson

In my TEFL classes, I blend English grammar, spelling, and reading with Visual Arts to create a truly unique learning experience. By integrating artistic elements into language lessons, I make learning English more engaging and enjoyable. Through activities that combine language rules with drawing and painting, I encourage students to explore their creativity while mastering language skills. My approach not only enhances language comprehension but also fosters a deeper appreciation for the arts. By connecting language and visual expression, I strive to inspire a love for both English and art in my students.
