About Mary
I have been working with students for three years now professionally and for many more years informally. I am passionate about helping my students excel. I was on the path to become a teacher and realized that I favor one-on-one settings where I can really dig deep into each individual person’s needs and most effectively provide help. My goal is not only for my students to achieve high grades, but to have fun and discover some passion for their course of study.

I can help with English, writing, essay composition. Additionally, I assist with test prep for the SAT and ACT (I can also help with math and science for these tests). I work with students elementary school age through high school, and some select college students depending on course of study.
I really value a relaxed rapport with my students and at the same time take my job very seriously. I understand how difficult it can be to ask for help when you are not understanding new concepts and want to provide a safe place to ask questions and receive gentle guidance. I ask my students to come prepared with the material with which they need assistance so we can customize a lesson plan and efficiently manage our time.
