About Janaun

Hello, my name is Janaun. As a dedicated educator and active community instructor, my mission is to provide a structured, encouraging, and highly professional learning environment where you can thrive.

I bring years of practical, real-world experience in guiding students through complex creative and technical processes. Whether teaching the precise discipline of martial arts forms or the intricate, multi-step pipeline of film production and creative writing, I have successfully helped diverse groups of learners break down big goals into manageable, achievable skills. My background as an artist and filmmaker means that I bring a high level of organization, patience, and attention to detail to every single lesson.

When you work with me, you can expect complete reliability, clear communication, and a tutor who is deeply invested in your personal growth. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take pride in maintaining a supportive, judgment-free space where you can build genuine confidence.

Together, we will turn your goals into tangible achievements. I look forward to working with you!

About the lesson

My Teaching Method and Techniques

My teaching method centers on engagement and visual learning. I believe that writing should not feel like a chore or a set of rigid rules to memorize. Instead, I use a "concept-to-creation" approach. I use visual prompts, story mapping, and character building blocks to make the mechanics of English—like grammar, reading comprehension, and sentence structure—tangible and interesting. By connecting traditional reading and writing skills directly to the art of storytelling, students naturally learn how to express their ideas clearly and confidently.

A Typical Lesson Plan

Each session is structured to build confidence and deliver practical results:

• The Spark (First 10 Mins): A quick, fun reading or visual writing prompt to get the creative juices flowing and shake off any frustration.

• Core Skill Focus (20 Mins): We target a specific area of growth, such as dissecting a reading passage, mastering essay structure, or developing a narrative arc.

• Hands-on Application (25 Mins): The student actively applies the skill through interactive writing exercises or creative story construction while receiving real-time, encouraging feedback.

• Wrap-up & Goal Setting (5 Mins): We review what was accomplished and set a clear, bite-sized goal for the next session.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor

My name is Janaun, and what sets me apart is my unique background as an artist, filmmaker, and storyboard designer. Because I work extensively with visual storytelling, scriptwriting, and creative pipelines, I don't look at English as just text on a page. I help students see the "movie" in their minds and translate it into powerful written words. This interdisciplinary approach makes my lessons highly engaging for students who might struggle with traditional, lecture-style tutoring.

Who the Lessons Are For

My lessons are designed for a wide range of learners looking to strengthen their voice:

• Elementary to High School Students needing to build foundational reading comprehension, grammar, and essay composition skills.

• Aspiring Young Writers and Creatives who want to learn narrative structure, world-building, and creative storytelling techniques.

• Adult Learners or Hobbyists looking to sharpen their everyday communication skills or dive into creative writing projects for personal enrichment.

No matter the current skill level, I adapt my pacing to match each individual student's needs.
