About Heather
I’ve taught grades Pre-K through fifth grade in my 26 years of teaching. I’ve tutored grades second through sixth. I find it particularly rewarding to help struggling readers and writers find a love for English Language Arts as they gain confidence in their skills.

I start my lesson by explaining to my student what I have planned for our session. Next, I explain and model the targeted objective/strategy. Then it is the student’s opportunity to practice with my support. Finally, I like to end every lesson with an educational game to reinforce the objective of the current lesson or review previously taught material.
