About Leah

I can make a positive impact at the individual level. I connect with students easily and make them feel comfortable and confident. I am friendly, high-energy when appropriate, and believe positivity is best!

I love working with people and helping them! Tutoring and being a teacher is so fulfilling because I believe everyone deserves a chance to succeed and feel good about themselves. Supporting someone through that process is a blessing!

I first started teaching with an afterschool science program while in college. I would travel to various elementary schools around the Atlanta area and teach fun, engaging science lessons to 10-20 students. It was an exciting experience! Since then, I have experience as a teacher for 3 years and a private tutor for 2 years before starting my law school journey.

I have an undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech in Business Administration. I am a third-year law school graduate student.

I have 3-years experience of specialized training in reading, reading comprehension, math, and science working with students from K-12. Additionally, I have experience working with children with learning challenges. Lastly, I have been a private tutor for 2 years, working with students in the subjects of reading, English, math, and science.

About the lesson

I like to talk on the phone before beginning sessions to the student's parent or guardian, in order to get a better understanding of the student's needs and the client's expectations.

I have worked with students of all types! Pre-K through Grade 12. I have also worked with college-aged students.

I have extensive experience working with students with learning challenges, including dyslexia, autism spectrum disorders, and other general learning challenges.

I teach because I love helping people! I believe a lot of teachers feel the same way. My advice is to take steps towards putting yourself in uncomfortable situations. Your tutor may challenge you, but it is because they want to see you grow and learn!
