About Mary

I have extensive experience teaching reading and writing. I am also certified in special education with an emphasis in dyslexia and learning disabilities.

After years as a stay-at-home mom and small town newspaper pulisher (as well as various jobs working for my husband), I went back to school to become a teacher. I love working with students, especially students who are not traditional learners.

Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, Trinity University

I have also written and presented on teaching strategies, ADHD, reading intervention, and other related subjects to teachers and undergraduates.

About the lesson

If I am tutoringa student currently enrolled in a class, I assess what they know, where they are struggling, and make a plan. If I am teaching new information or filling in areas where a student is missing past learning, I work on those areas specifically; although often, those areas overlap.

I have worked with duslexic students, regular ed students, as well as ADHD. Each presents unique opportunities for successs.
