About Alexis

With 7 years of teaching experience, I provide personalized, results-driven instruction in high school-level English and beyond. My expertise includes reading comprehension, essay writing, poetry analysis, and a wide range of English subjects. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and achieve academic success.

What truly sets me apart is my differentiated teaching approach. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor each session to fit individual learning styles, strengths, and goals. Whether a student needs structured guidance, creative exploration, or step-by-step support, I adjust my methods to ensure meaningful progress and long-term understanding.

In addition to my English background, I also have a strong foundation in the sciences, allowing me to bring a unique, well-rounded perspective to learning. I help students make connections across subjects, strengthening critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to be engaging, personalized, and results-focused. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all teaching; every session is tailored to how you learn best. Whether you need structure, step-by-step guidance, or a more discussion-based approach, I adjust my teaching style to help you truly understand the material.

In our sessions, we break down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps. For reading and writing, I focus on building strong foundations, helping you improve comprehension, organize your ideas, and write with clarity and confidence. For poetry and literature, I make analysis approachable and even enjoyable, so you’re not just memorizing, you’re actually understanding.

What makes my lessons different is that I focus on long-term skill building, not just completing assignments. I’ll teach you how to think critically, analyze texts, and express your ideas clearly, skills that will help you in every class, not just English.

I also bring in my background in science to strengthen logical thinking and problem-solving, giving you a more well-rounded learning experience.

My goal is simple:
help you feel confident, capable, and in control of your academic success.
