About Abigail

I am an experienced English tutor with a Master’s degree in English Literature and over seven years of teaching students from diverse backgrounds and academic levels. My passion for the language goes beyond grammar and vocabulary—it's rooted in a genuine appreciation for how words shape ideas, stories, and connections. This passion influences every lesson I teach, whether I’m guiding a student through essay structure or unpacking the deeper meaning of a poem. My teaching journey began with helping classmates during university, which quickly grew into a career I deeply enjoy. Over the years, I’ve worked with school-age learners, college students, and adult professionals, adapting my methods to meet each student’s goals and learning style. I believe that a strong command of English opens doors—not just academically, but in everyday communication and confidence. What sets my approach apart is my focus on clarity, encouragement, and consistent growth. I create a safe space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking ownership of their learning. My goal is to make each learner feel heard and capable, whether they’re tackling grammar challenges or refining their analytical thinking in literature. Outside of teaching, I’m an avid reader and a lifelong learner, always exploring new ways to make English more accessible and relevant. I bring this curiosity and dedication into every lesson, aiming to inspire not just better grades or test scores, but a deeper appreciation for the language itself.

About the lesson

My English lessons are structured to provide clarity, skill-building, and a supportive environment for learners at every level. Whether you're working on improving writing, understanding literature, or preparing for exams, I tailor each session to suit your specific needs. Lessons are paced to match your comfort level while gently challenging you to grow in areas that need attention.

For students focusing on writing, I break down the process step by step—from organizing ideas and building strong paragraphs to mastering tone, grammar, and essay structure. We work on developing a clear voice and understanding the importance of revision, so that writing becomes both purposeful and polished. I use prompts and real-world examples to make sessions practical and engaging.

When it comes to reading comprehension and literature, I emphasize active reading strategies, vocabulary development, and analytical thinking. We explore not just what texts mean, but how and why they communicate meaning. I encourage open discussion and critical thinking, helping students to engage with material more thoughtfully and confidently.

With a Master’s degree in English and 7 years of teaching experience, I combine academic knowledge with a passion for helping learners succeed. My approach is patient and encouraging, focusing on steady progress and meaningful learning. Whether you need help with assignments, test prep, or just want to become a better communicator, I aim to make every lesson valuable and motivating.
