About La'Tese
I am a licensed Georgia Special Education Teacher with experience teaching students with diverse academic, behavioral, and learning needs. I currently teach at the elementary level and have experience supporting students from kindergarten through fifth grade in reading, phonics, writing, mathematics, and foundational academic skills.
I believe every child can make progress when instruction meets them where they are. My approach is patient, encouraging, structured, and individualized. I work to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes, and developing new skills.
My professional experience includes IEP development and implementation, specially designed instruction, differentiated teaching, progress monitoring, small-group instruction, behavioral supports, and instructional technology. I also hold a Master of Information Systems and am completing my Special Education Teacher Certification Program at Piedmont University.
Most importantly, I want students to leave our sessions feeling more confident than when they arrived. Academic growth matters, but helping a child begin to believe, “I can do this,” matters just as much.

As a licensed Special Education Teacher, I provide personalized K–5 tutoring in reading, phonics, writing, and math. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and learning needs, then adjust instruction to match how they learn best.
My lessons include a short review, explicit instruction, modeling, guided practice, and independent practice. I use visual supports, hands-on activities, repetition, scaffolding, and positive reinforcement to make challenging skills easier to understand.
What sets me apart is my experience with specially designed instruction, IEP goals, accommodations, progress monitoring, and differentiated teaching. I work with students with and without disabilities, including children who need extra support closing learning gaps, building confidence, or becoming more independent learners.
