About Amir

I am a dedicated and reflective educator with a strong academic background and over five years of teaching experience across both the UK and international settings, including the Cayman Islands. My practice is grounded in a commitment to high standards, clarity of instruction, and a genuine understanding of how students learn most effectively.
I am particularly passionate about English as a subject, as it underpins all areas of learning. I value its role in developing critical thinking, communication, and self-expression, and I strive to instil these skills in every student I work with.
My approach to teaching is both structured and student-centred. I take pride in building positive, respectful relationships with learners, creating an environment where they feel supported, motivated, and confident to succeed. I am patient, attentive to detail, and committed to helping each student reach their full potential.
I teach because I believe in the long-term impact of education—not only in improving academic outcomes, but in shaping confident, capable individuals who can think independently and express themselves with clarity.

About the lesson

My lessons are carefully structured, purposeful, and tailored to each student’s individual learning needs. I begin by identifying key strengths and areas for development, allowing me to design targeted sessions that focus on reading comprehension, inference, vocabulary development, grammatical accuracy, and clear, confident written expression.
Each lesson combines guided reading of high-quality texts with focused questioning to deepen understanding and develop critical thinking. Students are then supported in applying these skills through structured writing tasks, ensuring clarity, coherence, and precision in their work.
Having taught both in the UK and internationally in the Cayman Islands, I bring a well-rounded, adaptable approach that supports a wide range of learners. I create a calm, focused environment where students feel confident to ask questions, take intellectual risks, and develop independence.
My aim is not only to improve academic performance, but to equip students with the skills, discipline, and confidence required for long-term success.
