About Sophia
Hi, I’m Sophia! I’m 19 years old and currently studying Commerce at University I have ADHD and dyslexia, so I truly understand the challenges that come with learning differently. My personal experience motivates me to help other kids who may find school tough or frustrating. I’ve spent a couple of years working with children with disabilities and additional needs, which has helped me develop patience, empathy, and creative ways to support learning. I’m passionate about making tutoring a positive, encouraging experience — one where every child feels safe to ask questions, take their time, and celebrate their progress. I’m friendly, reliable, and committed to helping students build confidence alongside their academic skills. Whether it’s reading, writing, math, or focus strategies, I tailor lessons to suit each child’s unique needs. I look forward to helping your child learn in a way that works for them!

My lessons are designed to be calm, patient, and tailored to each student’s unique learning style. I work primarily with primary school-aged children, including those with ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning challenges. Because I have ADHD and dyslexia myself, I understand what it’s like to feel frustrated or overwhelmed at school — and I use that insight to create a supportive, judgment-free space where kids can learn at their own pace.
Each session focuses on building confidence as well as academic skills. I support students with reading, writing, basic maths, homework, and focus strategies. I use creative and flexible approaches to help children stay engaged, such as games, visual aids, and small achievable goals.
I believe learning should be encouraging, not stressful. That’s why I take the time to connect with each child and adapt my lessons to what works best for them. Whether your child needs help catching up, staying on track, or just someone who truly understands how they learn — I’m here to help.
Lessons are available in-person (depending on location) or online, and I’m happy to chat with families to make a plan that suits their needs.
