My focus is on the needs of the student and a consistent, intentional program of study. In order to achieve these instructional goals, I work to ensure that resources are relevant to students' area of study (both in the regional and academic sense), students are involved in their own assessment, and tutoring time is structured but adaptable to students' needs.
I base my classes on what my students need to focus on. I like to get to know my students first so that I can get an understanding of their learning style. These classes meant for high school students who need help in history. I am unique because I focus on the student's weaknesses in the subject before I start to go further into the content itself.
My philosophy of education centers around health and wellness. By approaching learning in this way, I find that both teachers and students have positive experiences that grow knowledge bases and skills. My educational values include compassion and care, open communication, clear learning objectives and expectations, 21st century pedagogical approaches, and social and environmental equity.
I am a laidback teacher. I like to structure the classes for whatever it is that the students need and how they learn. I have taught children, teenagers, and adults before, all at various levels of understanding of different subjects. I like to have interactive classes, with an emphasis on discussion and to help the students realize their own opinions on the subjects and to practice themselves.

From experience teaching I have found what methods work best for myself and previous students. However, all students are different individuals and require different methods. First, differentiation is a key method as not all students are at the same level. Students will all need different lessons, manipulatives, an lesson structure to succeed.
I approach subjects with flexibility. We work together to create a schedule and work in communication that sets us both up for success! Online help is most successful to me. There can be no in person distractions, and you don’t have to waste your time working on something if you don’t necessarily need my help while you are paying me and I wait.
In terms of teaching methods it is my philosophy to get to know my students and understand their strengths and weaknesses in order to properly develop teaching relationships and methods. I care for the educational progression of all of my students and I am great at working on the fly.

As a social science student, I endeavour to mentor individuals using the knowledge and skills I have obtained from my bachelor of arts degree. Because the study of individuals and society is my passion, I will be furthering my degree in the near future. Honours in social research is the next step for me. My teaching methodology is straightforward.
